My name is Raine, a small town gal from Northern Ontario, and I would love to share the story of how your candles really did brighten my day.

My story begins when, in November of 2008, I sat talking with a friend of mine from school. She sat talking about how her mother wanted to give her their 'family pet', an 11 year old bird. Interested, an avid pet lover, I asked her what the reason was. She told me that Goonie, their Umbrella Cockatoo, was a pain in her house, and that she wished she did not have to bring him along to University. Soon after that meeting, I went over to meet the poor bird. He was set in the corner of their family room, stuck in a cage many sizes to small, and surrounded by smoke and flies. It hit me then that I had to bring him home. Many months later, Goonie entered my home, covered in nicotine, scared, and wheezing.

Now, although this seems to not have anything to do with your wonderful candles, I will cut to the chase and tell you how much power bees wax has on a hurt soul.

Firstly, after spending nearly 6 years beside a chain smoker, I needed to find a product that would clean the air without chemicals or expensive air purifiers. You see, any kind of air cleaner, like Lysol, will kill a bird as they have sensitive lungs. Desperate to find an answer, I came across your website and knew instantly this was my solution. Not only would this candle help to clean the air, but it would also help to bring the dust (which all Cockatoos make a great deal of!) to the floor where it could be cleaned easily. It also helped to relax him, making him easier to handle. Days after using your candle for a few hours, I noticed the retched wheezing Goonie had disappeared. I also noticed him relax, and would look to me as if to say "Thank you for helping me" Goonie now looks forward to his candle being lit every night as he goes to bed.

Since using your amazing candles, not only has Goonie's wheezing reduced significantly, but I can enjoy the soft lighting of a candle, something I thought I had to give up when I brought birds into my home. Now it is the ONLY candle that I burn! I don't know what I would do without them, or even (if I can be so bold to say) where my beloved Cockatoo would be if I hadn't come across your website. I would love to see something on your website stating that your candles are safe to burn around birds, as I know many bird lovers had given up candles to keep their birds healthy.

Thank you so much for producing such a wonderful, heart warning product. I cherish all of my Pheylonian Production Kohr candles, and can't wait until I purchase my next one.

HONEY AND LIP TO TOE

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you all for the great gifts you sent down to us. Dereck tried and loved the Honey Miel so much that I couldn't hold on to it. He actually drinks a lot of tea here at work and he put some in his tea yesterday and he couldn't stop telling us how good it was. I'm not a tea man myself so I didn't go down that road. I did keep the tealight candles and lip balm. My daughter Addison is starting to get into pretending to put lipstick on like mommy does...so needles to say, I handed the lip balm to her last night and she was relentless...having to tell us over and over how she has lipstick like mommy and how pretty her lips were now that she had her own lipstick...ha, ha, ha. It actually worked out great as it seems to matter how much chapstick we put on her lips they end up chapped and she loves to pick at them. She woke up this morning and they weren't dry at all. We really appreciate the gifts and I personally would like to thank you for the very warm letter that you sent to me. May the new year be very prosperous for you and all at Pheylonian.

TRUTH OF NEGATIVE IONS

I work at a store that sells the Pheylonian Beeswax Candles, but besides noticing their lovely sweet fragrance while walking bye them in the store, I had paid them no mind.

One day a woman came up to tha cash register, carrying a very large candle, the candle was over $100. As I was ringing it in, she said with a beautiful smile, "they are a little expensive, but well worth it".

I decided that I wanted to find out what the fuss was all about, so later that day, I read the label of one of the candles. When I discovered that these candles claimed to be able to cleanse the air of dust and pollen particles, and even viruses by releasing negative ions, I thought I would give them a try. I have a 9 year old daughter who has asthma, and so I can not burn scented candles or use any perfumes in my home. I loved the idea of a candle that would actually clean the air of odours without leaving a perfumy smell that would trigger my daughters asthma, so i purchased one small candle and  took it home to try it out.

I was delighted to find that not only did it make my home feel cleaner, but it also left behind a sweet honey smell that was totally natural, and  non irritating to my daughter.

I happened to be online, later that evening researching beeswax candles a bit more when a friend of mine who works in a nuclear power plant signed in to MSN...I asked him if he knew anything about negative ions. He said he did, and that he produced them, along with the positive ions all day long at work. When I told him that I had purchased a candle that eits negative ions when it burns, at first he didnt beleive me, he said that every fuel produces positive ions and that even our digestive systems produce positive ions when we are digesting our foods. Then he paused for a minute and came back with "beeswax, is the only fuel known to man to emit negative ions as it is burning, only 100 percent beeswax". Now I am not a physicist, but according to my understanding, what happens is that the negative ions are missing a molecule, so they attatch to particles in the air, making them heavy enough to fall out of the air, therefor clearing it of dust etc.

Despite the  magic of these candles, i thought I would try a cheaper version that I found at another store...absolutely not the same thing, the smell was not as sweet and was more chemically, so i am hooked on Pheylonian Beeswax Candles. I now burn them everyday, and my cleaning routine wouldnt feel the same without them.

HONEY IN RECIPE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE!

I want to tell you a story about your honey.  I have a large pail of your honey which is delicious and I love the taste.  I save it for toast mainly preferring not to waste it cooking.  So I made a batch of Martha Stewart's recipe for granola which called for 1/2 cup of honey.  I was too lazy to go and get the regular honey so I just used yours.  The granola was amazing and everyone agreed it was the best ever.  I gave all the credit to Martha.  So when I made a second batch weeks later I used regular honey and it was just like normal granola no where near so good.  I could not figure it out and then a light came on and I wondered if it was your honey.  So I just made a third batch with your honey and wow once again I made the best granola ever!!  Thanks so much for such a wonderful natural and amazing product.  Gotta love those bees!!  Now I have to go to all the people I have given this recipe to and tell them the "secret".

A BELIEVER AND CUSTOMER FOREVER!

I just had to write and tell you how much I am enjoying your wonderful products. Recently, a local retailer friend of mine was trying to decide if she should add your line to her shop for the Christmas season. She showed me your catalog and asked my opinion as a customer, "Would I be interested?"

I read the catalogue cover to cover and said, "These are some pretty lofty claims, I mean, they're just candles." But something struck a chord and I did some research on the internet and elsewhere about paraffin (which my apartment was FULL of), how it's produced and the possible side effects. I independently verified the health risks you spoke about in the literature.

So we decided "let's give it a try." We put together the order and called it in. At the same time, I made my wife throw out all of her paraffin candles and bought her some local beeswax ones to burn until yours arrived.

Well, this past week the order came in and as we unpacked the carton I knew we had made the right decision. Even though the candles were cold from being in the delivery truck, the aroma was amazing. I have smelled many different "flavors" of beeswax but that first sniff made me a believer. I took my part of the order home and that night, my wife and I ate dinner in the warm glow of 4 Castle Glows. They not only give off that wonderful light, but are individual works of art in themselves, each with it's own personality! We've burned them every night since. I also have found that your claims of a calming effect of beeswax are absolutely true. I brought my marl-pot egg to work where it now sits on my desk as a kind of natural sculpture and every now and then, I pick it up (unlit) and deeply inhale that wonderful fragrance. Your aura pots are equally wonderful and I'll be ordering many of those in the future as well. I look forward to the day I try a Reacthor, that'll be in the next order I think.

Anyhow, you have made a believer and a customer forever and I'm currently helping my friend make our local market aware of these great products you folks are producing. There has been a trend in this area lately of medieval style weddings and what could make the event more magical than several of your wrought iron stands with Castle Glows burning brightly atop them? Just one of the ideas I'm pursuing.

Than You so much for producing such a wonderful, quality product and staying true to the craftsmanship of ages past. I know your company will continue to grow and thrive as the next generation comes into the family business, sharing with a world hungry for simple pleasures the joy of these wonderful works of art.
Before I close, I wanted to compliment you as well on your catalog and related literature. AS a 4th generation commercial printer myself, many printed pieces pass in front of me on a daily, weekly, monthly, etc., basis. You have successfully combined a sales tool with helpful information in such a creative way as to make it enjoyable to read. The writing and layout are done in such a caring, mentoring style as to give the reader the sense that you really do care about him. From someone in the trade, that's not an easy thing to do with true sincerity. The generous amount of non-sales pitch is a breath of fresh air from those I deal with constantly, desperate to use the least space to shove the most product down the throat of the reader.
So my compliments for an all around job well done!

HOLLOW CANDLING CLEARS THE WAY TO "See the Light"

My girlfriend and I stopped by your table in Harbourfront on Thanksgiving Day. She (Naoko) is the one that was leaving for Japan that week. I would like to share an interesting story about your hollow candles.
Naoko and I were enjoying our last day together before she returned to Japan for who know how long. We had been an item for a mere 8 weeks yet I knew she was the one for me, although she had her doubts. Because she was going back home, we decided to break up. We did not want to part ways but felt it would be unfair to both of us to remain "attached." For some strange, unplanned reason we just happened to find ourselves at Harbourfront and then to your table. The for another strange, unplanned reason I thought since we have both never tried hollow candling, it would be a great way to wind down our whirlwind relationship. So we purchased the hollow candles, 2 [Pheylonian] beeswax candles, and your book (it looked like a very interesting topic).

After exchanging some parting gifts and tears we tried the hollow candles. We set up the room with the other [Pheylonian] beeswax candles and some relaxing music. Naoko commented that when she was holding the candle in my auditory canal she would be mesmerized by the flame. When it was her turn to get treated, she could feel the inside of her head clearing up. Then, a remarkable thing occurred. Her previous doubt about our future vanished! It was cleared away with the ear gunk and she could see a definite possibility between us. I do not know what caused the revelation but I am sure the candles helped out. This was a huge relief for me even though I was sure of us.

She is in Japan now on her way to New Zealand for a year. Thanks for providing us with a way to "see the light."

I AM A BELIEVER!! WOW!!!  ISN'T MOTHER NATURE GREAT?!

I just want to drop you and those at Philoxia a note about how much I truly enjoy the Original Pheylonian Beeswax Candles.  It all started last winter, when I appeared at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto with my sister (whom is an avid lover of your candles and will burn nothing else but your candles).  She is the one who convinced me to try your beeswax candles.  Now being the candle freak that I am, and seeing that I already had more than enough candles at home, I was hesitant.  I figured a candle was a candle.  Boy was I wrong!  Upon my second day return to the One of a Kind Show, I stopped by your booth to purchase some candles for my sister (seeing that she liked them so much) for Christmas. This is when my research began.  I took one of your pamphlets and spoke to a very informed lady by the name of Sharon.  She informed me of the wonders and the beauty of burning a Pheylonian Beeswax Candle.  Well, I must say I was impressed.  But being the skeptic that I am, I left the booth empty handed.  While I was strolling through the show I visited other booths selling candles, but my mind kept returning to all the positive information I just learned from Sharon about your candles and the benefits they can bring to my life.  I did return to your booth, (skepticism and all) and decided to purchase candles not only for my sister but for me as well.

I normally would burn candles in my home for mood lighting, to deodorize the air with an oil burner, or to remove cigarette smoke etc..... but upon my return home that night from the show, I burned one of your beeswax candles to see if I could notice a difference in burning paraffin wax candles and bees wax candles.  Well let me tell you I noticed a big change immediately!  The air in my apartment changed almost immediately.  It smelt fresh and not musty.  I wasn't expecting that.  I noticed that even having the candles unlit, made a major difference in the air. The next night I took one of your tealight candles to my bedroom and burned it for about 1 hour before I went to bed. The next morning I woke up decongested and well rested!  I have suffered for years with sinus problems, causing me to wake up with extremely dry nasal passages or nosebleeds, especially in the winter when central heat is always pumping.  I couldn't believe how I felt the next morning, so being as skeptic as I am, I burned the same candle again for the next week just about an hour before bedtime. And Voila! I found I was experiencing the same reaction I had the first morning I awoke clear, rested and full of energy.  I even noted a change in my dogs’ behavior.  I tried not burning the candle for a night and the next morning I was back to my old congested self and had to use this icky ointment in my nose so I could just breathe.  I was so impressed that I called my sister, all my friends and even my doctor (who noticed a change) to tell them about my new enlightenment.

When I ran out of beeswax candles to burn, I found myself waiting for your next return to Toronto just so I could get some more of those wonderful beeswax candles.  Not only did I buy for myself, but I convinced my friend, who was with me, to sample your candles and I purchased some for my other skeptic friends.
I now use your candles on a regular basis, not just for bedtime, but also to purify the air in my apartment to rid the positive ions like dust and toxins, for ambience, for meditation purposes and for any excuse just to burn your candles.  I AM A BELIEVER!! WOW!!!  ISN'T MOTHER NATURE GREAT?!

THE PERFECT FIREPLACE CANDLES

We hope that this e-mail finds things well for you and your family.  Just wanted to write a note to say that we have received our shipment of candles, and are quite taken by their presence in our home, , , they are not just magical and calming, but are also true works of art. 

We have arranged them in our fireplace for the summer, and with the contrasting colors and shapes, they are simply stunning.  Everyone comments about how beautiful they are, and they are not even aware of the best aspect of them, their incredible, revealing energy.  I have taken some photos and will e-mail one over when I get them developed.

THE ONLY CANDLES I WILL HAVE IN MY HOME

I have been using the LIFE LITE Beeswax Candle now moving into five years. The first thing that attracted me to the candle was that it came in a tin container with a lid, which makes it convenient to store and encourages an even flame without leaks or drips. 

I have used the candle in times of emergency, for example, in the ice storm when it provided warmth and could easily fill an entire room with light for a number of hours. 

I also recommend the candle for day-to-day use. I am an allergy sufferer who can't tolerate strong fragrances or cigarette smoke. I find the sweet honey-like aroma purifies the air in my apartment. The deep golden glow of the flame even serves as a wonderful source of relaxation. 

This is the ONLY candle I will have in my house and find myself returning to the craft show every year to buy more. I really find the many uses of this candle to be endless.

THE CIGAR SMOKE STORY

I wanted to tell you about an experience I had not that long ago and your Beeswax Candles become the focus of attention. Here is how my story unfolds:

I live in a two-bedroom apartment here in Ottawa. I enjoy a scotch accompanied by a good cigar. This is usually the exception and not the rule but when I get that craving I like to enjoy.

On one occasion last winter I decided to indulge. I always open more than one window but on this occasion the temperature outside was just too cold. However, I decided to light up anyway with the windows closed.

Now, no one hates the smell of an old cigar more than me. I should mention that you had briefed me on all the positive aspects of burning a Beeswax Candle versus a regular petroleum one. Of course, it was information overload with the exception of something you said about pollutants being charged with one type of ion and the Beeswax Candle burning with the other (we are talking negative vs. positive ions).  I have one burning (Beeswax Candle) as my experience unfolds.

So the stage is set. It is the dead of winter and darkness has long since taken over the day. I have had a steak dinner and now I want to enjoy my scotch and a cigar but I can't open the windows. Not to be deprived of my enjoyment I light up anyway. I will forego the details of the scotch and cigar. Needless to say I light up with the windows closed. The only preemptive action I was able to take was close all none essential doors (bathrooms, bedrooms) leaving my kitchen, dinning room and living room exposed to the cloud that was about to be generated in my living space. I will add this, I rated this cigar in a sub category of smoking time. It was a 90 minute smoke and an enjoyable one at that. Now can you see this. I light up and my living space which slowly but surly settles into a dense cloud generated by my cigar. I think even my scotch glass clouded over. The smoke hung in my living room in layers and that is a lot of smoke!! After enjoying my scotch and a second one to help finish the cigar, I notice I really had difficultly navigating my living room and it wasn't because of the two drinks, but because of the cigar smoke. I can't emphasize enough the density of the smoke unacceptable even to me. Not as bad as to create navigation problems, but the smoke really hung in layers in the living room.

Now, as I mentioned in passing, I did have a Beeswax candle burning at the time and for no other reason then, like that mountain, ‘if it is there, climb it’. So the candle was there and I lit it. I want to stress not for any expected benefit or intent I might derive from the candle.

I must say I was astonished! I don't think it took 30 minutes for that candle to eliminate the smoke in my apartment. It was astonishing. Even at this point I was a skeptic and decided to leave my apartment but only briefly to see if in fact the smoke was really gone. Upon returning from an environment of a different air quality I could not positively say someone had just recently smoked a cigar in this closed apartment environment. The air was clear and I assume fresh. Certainly I could not detect any noticeable smoke or odour. I was impressed and I can only attribute this condition to the fact I was burning your Beeswax Candle.

So, I have taken the time to relate this incident to you because I was truly impressed with the benefits of your Beeswax Candles and I am now a firm supporter and can't envision ever using anything else besides a Beeswax Candle for all of my air freshening and purification needs.

My thanks to our chance meeting at the craft show in Ottawa and I will be forever a supporter of your candles and the healthy breathing environment they promote.

THE FINEST TASTIN' POLLEN!

Tosca Reno loves bee pollen!

Your suggestion of snacking on it has been great as I am able to skip those ‘sweet treats’ I resort to mid-afternoon, and just have a couple of teaspoons of pollen. My husband and I have bought your candles for some 20 odd years now. We do not burn any others, as yours are far superior to anything else around. They are just like negative ion generators with the gentlest of halos and fragrance.

We were at the craft fair in Ottawa at Lansdowne Park and purchased a jar of blonde creamy organic honey from you that was the most amazing honey we have ever tasted. So, now we want to know how we might get more!

Will you be at the craft fair in Ottawa at Landsdown Park, I believe during the week of Dec. 12 or so? If so, we would like to order some honey, and possibly pick it up at that time.

RELIEF FOR MY ALLERGY TO MOULD

Thanks for making your wonderful beeswax candles – I feel they’re helping to clear my apartment of mold spores, thus assisting in the restoration of my health from my dysfunctional immune system. I’ve stopped using the worlds "immune-compromised" to describe my situation, as I’ve recently been told that these words lead people to mistakenly believe that I have AIDS or the HIV virus; however, while I’m on the subject… it occurs to me to mention the potential global health benefits of marketing these candles to any and all health practitioners and organizations dealing with allergies and immune system problems.
